Nuri Rocket’s Fourth Launch to Include CubeSats for Space Pharmaceutical and Satellite Disposal Testing

The fourth launch of the Nuri rocket next year will carry cube satellites aimed at conducting space pharmaceutical experiments and Earth imaging. The Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) announced that they have selected three 6U satellites and three 3U satellites as secondary payloads for the launch.

The 6U satellites include:

  • “BEE-1000” by Spaceline Tech, which aims to grow protein crystals in space.
  • “Sejong 4” by Hancom InSpace, aimed at multispectral imaging.
  • “ETRISaT” by ETRI, for testing 6G IoT non-terrestrial network payload technology.

The 3U satellites include:

  • “COSMIC” by UZURO Tech, for testing satellite disposal systems and space exploration components.
  • “JACK 3 and 4” by COSMOS Works, aimed at Earth imaging.

The main payload for the fourth launch will be the Next-Generation Medium Satellite No. 3, along with cube satellites developed by domestic universities selected in the 2022 CubeSat competition, and component verification satellites being developed by KARI. Previously, in the third launch, seven cube satellites were selected as secondary payloads and launched with the main payload, the Next-Generation Small Satellite No. 2.
