The government has announced plans to significantly increase the number of AI wildfire monitoring cameras in national parks to 231 by 2030 to counter large-scale wildfires caused by climate change.
Specialized wildfire fighting vehicles and helicopters will be expanded to 22 and 4, respectively, ensuring a response time of within one hour for any national park.
A dedicated wildfire disaster organization will be established within the Korea National Park Service, along with specialized personnel, to build a systematic response system from prevention to suppression.
